This June of 2018, my family and I went to Japan after my examinations and here are some sites I would suggest in visiting when touring Tokyo, Japan!!!

First stop we hit Ueno, Taitō, Tokyo and there was this place that we went which is known as the Ameyoko Shopping place. It is a street that you could purchase some of Tokyo’s snacks and candies and of course confectionaries!!

Well here is the place if you are looking for something cheap and from photo reference, it is tax-free!! Niki no Kashi was one of the place that is located there and is one of Tokyo’s most famous sweet shops.

Next stop, we head to Ginza, is a district of Chūō, Tokyo, located south of Yaesu and Kyōbashi, west of Tsukiji, east of Yūrakuchō and Uchisaiwaichō, and north of Shinbashi. It is a popular upscale shopping area of Tokyo, with numerous internationally renowned department stores, boutiques, restaurants and coffeehouses located in its vicinity. It is considered one of the most expensive, elegant, and luxurious streets in the world.

I didn’t look at it too carefully so it is blurred, but Ginza is a worthwhile place to visit if you are looking for high class cafes and restaurants!!! Photo credits:https://jw-webmagazine.com/10-best-restaurants-in-ginza-area-7bf5c5079414

Next stop we headed to a historical place, Meiji Shrine also known as Meiji Jingu. It is located in Shibuya, Tokyo, is the Shinto shrine that is dedicated to the deified spirits of Emperor Meiji and his wife, Empress Shōken. The shrine does not contain the emperor’s grave, which is located at Fushimi-momoyama, south of Kyoto. It is more better to head there when flowers bloomed and there is this beautiful blossom out there where you can walk.

We then head to the Tokyo SkyTree and there is a spectacular birds-eye view of the whole Tokyo. Basically, the way you get up there is you take the elevator, head to a small way leading out and there you will see a restaurant, there sits a ticket booth where you purchase your tickets and you ask the person at the ticket booth for where to go and she will direct you there. I brought the tickets before-hand so before we went up, we went to this mall next to the Skytree and there are many arts and craft shops, food that you can take away and then the Pokémon Centre of Tokyo!!! There are two places of this mall I really like which I would be featuring later!!! Also, at the bottom of the Skytree, there is this Tokyo Banana Cake that my family came for. They come in different flavours and come around 500 yen.

Here’s a picture of the Banana Cake I was talking about. Unfortunately, they are quite small and sometimes have limited editions. They can also be purchased at the airport. Photo credits:https://www.yamibuy.com/cn/goods.php?id=163852

The other favourite place is a Grill Place that has really qualitied and juicy beef available for grilling by yourself. Sadly, I didn’t manage to get the name after many rounds of search.

There are many more shops and cafes and restaurants I would wish to show you but I don’t want to make this travel blog so long, so instead, I would show you one of my preferred ones.

Moomin House Café. It is on the ground floor and it would be worth a visit if you have kids. The interior let’s you feel the warmth of the natural woods from the story of the Moomins. Adults can also have some peace and quiet while eating the too-good-for-eating food. If you search it up, it is so cute!!!! Photo credits:https://matcha-jp.com/en/1674

The next 4 days, we moved on to touring Hokkaido before returning to Tokyo and then returning to Singapore. (I would soon release another travel blog about Hokkaido because this is my first one and I already spent two hours on editing and cropping photos, researching and stuff)

The second time we came back to Tokyo, we stayed at The Intercontinental Hotel.

(This is an amazing photo, I am so impressed.) This hotel has good exterior, and interior. (I am happy that my suite got upgraded) And if you order a room, I do suggest getting the one with ocean view because it give you good opportunity for a magnificient photoshoot for Instagram!!! At its public balconies, you can see the Tokyo SkyTree from ground level. For breakfast, there is this restaurant which is a buffet restaurant with ocean view. Totti Candy Factory!! This place is located at Harajuku. Despite its small size, it accommodates a lot of Japanese students and is very popular among tourists. The two storey building consists of two components, upstairs sits a cotton candy making factory, it is a walk through and there are packages like rainbow layered cotton candy and three flavoured take away bottle that sets you back to 1000 plus yen. It also has accessories that is optional, where you can either take the candies away or put them in your cotton candy. Downstairs sits this place where you can get ice cream and customise your accessories you put in it. To get there, exit from Harajuku station, walk straight into a small narrow street, and keep looking at your right till you find it. To cat lovers, attention please! I went to a cat café not far from the previous attraction, Totti Candy Factory. Also located in Harajuku, I believe it to be the same street as the candy factory. This is the address: Japan, 〒150-0001 東京都渋谷区 神宮前1-14-25 クロスアベニュー原宿 4F  (Sorry my Japanese keyboard might look kind of weird.)
